There are other types of stocks such as preferred stocks. These stocks do not have the right to vote, but the stockowners receive a part of the dividend, even before in disbursed to the shareholders.   

 

Then there is the convertible preferred stock. This type of preferred stock comes with the option of transforming them into common stocks after a certain period. The stocks are dependent on the financial laws of the country where the company is located.
